The banquet was a big success. There were about 100 in attendance and we had to make a beer run! The dinner from Alpine Catering was excellent. The big surprise of the night were the jackets for the CDRA volunteers. Many of them were in attendance and recieved a jacket from the CDRA for all their help this past year and for many years. For the volunteers that were not there please contact Andy at 403-257-0883 to recieve yours. There were many door prizes and I would like to thank Ron Derry of Custom Balancing and Blueprinting for providing a custom engine balance. Chinook Hobbies gave us 10 plastic model kits. Alex Ovis brought 10 blue tooth headsets. JB's prvided a racers Jerry Can. Derek Graham brought several die cast models. Malik Auto provided an oil change, tire rotation and inpection package. Colette Storms made the table center pieces. There were gift certificates from various other vendors. Other prizes included a 32" flat screen and two 20' X 10' canopies supplied by the CDRA. We also gave away the last of the orange CDRA Hats!!
Working as the President for this past season was at times busy and stressfull but with alot of help from the executive members, volunteers, racers and family and friends we pulled off a great year of racing and have left a legacy in the bank for future years. The Calgary Drag Racing Asssociation currently has no home track which we hope will change in the future. In the meantime, next years membership will decide what the racing program will look like starting at the January 9th meeting. I hope to see you there.
